69.1 The lesson

Shalom haverim,

Today we’re focusing on two Hebrew prepositions that both express movement or direction: ל (le) and אל (el).

In English, they can both be translated as “to”, but in Hebrew, they’re not interchangeable.

So when do we use אל? With which types of verbs? And in what situations?

These are some of the prepositions that often feel confusing for learners — but don’t worry! In this lesson, we’ll explain everything as clearly and simply as possible.

To follow along and complete the exercises, open your books to pages 86–87.

Yallah, let’s go!
